      To whom it may concern,

This letter introduces and gives my recommendation to John Donohue.

I have known John for over 14 years. He first came to my attention in the mid-1980s as we sought to attain computerized control over our quotation process. We had installed micro-computers to service our CNC machine tools and wanted to use them for additional functions. From this initial requirement our project list has grown over the years until we now run virtually all of our accounting, production control, quality control and fulfillment needs on the system he designed, implemented and serviced. It is operational on our 21-node network. It is a fully integrated custom system and really does the job well.

The original requirement -- quotation -- I consider to be the most advanced and critical part of the system. I have been quoting parts to aerospace contractors for forty years in my own style by hand. John was able to capture all the factors, variations and "nudging" that I do in my head and incorporate them into the quotation program. Everyone to whom I show this program is highly impressed and gains a secure feeling that we have control over our costs and profitability because of this unique system.

We have kept John on nearly full time contract for the last four years. During this time the shop tracking, costing as well as the accounting systems came on line. But our toughest challenge has been working to get compliant with ISO-9000. This standard has been strongly required by our top customers, Allied Signal (now Honeywell) and Parker Hannifin. John worked hand in hand with myself and our quality control department-head to tighten down both our systematic protocols and the software components required for maintaining the standard. This has been a monumental task.

John also programmed and implemented our website and what is more important got us visible on the search engines. We make a certain proprietary engineering part and now the world knows that we make it. This can be seen at: http://www. toolingballs.com.

I can say easily that John has performed well in fulfilling his end of the bargain, showing up, meeting deadlines, and being productive. More important, however, is the fact that he seems to be able to get employees past their fears when it is time for their "world" to change. His communication, training and trouble-shooting talents are highly developed. He respects our workers and they like him.

Also, I must say that John has something really unusual, namely technical skill at computers, databases and programming combined with a firm grasp of broad business issues, finance and entrepreneuring. Usually you find people strong in one but very thin with the other. It has been valuable to have both in one person.

I have a high opinion of John’s character, dedication and honesty. He has been an important part of our progress, and I recommend him highly.
